Coach Paine has been teaching and coaching for 9 years. She has been the Assistant Tennis Coach at Independence High School for the last 3 years and she will begin her fourth year at IHS as the Head Tennis Coach.
Coach Paine graduated from Kaufman High School in 2005 where she lettered in tennis and cheerleading. She qualified for Girls 16’s and 18’s Super Champs age divisions in USTA Tennis. She also placed 3rd in State in girls doubles during her junior year as well as 3rd in girls singles her senior year.
After graduating, she played tennis for two years on a full scholarship at the University of Central Arkansas, but then transferred to complete her final two years of college tennis at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. In 2009, she graduated with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Physical Education.
After graduating college, she began her teaching career in Kaufman, TX in the fall of 2010. While at Kaufman, she helped the Lion Tennis program achieve 6 years of District Championships at the junior high level, a Mixed Doubles State Championship in 2015, and a 3rd place finish at the UIL Team Tennis State Tournament in 2016, among other things.
During the last 3 years at Independence, Coach Schkade and Coach Paine have achieved a 3rd place, 2nd place, and a District Championship finish in Team Tennis at the varsity level. While the JV Knights Tennis Team has won tournaments and has finished District Runner Up.
Coach Paine comes from a family of educators and tennis coaches. Her parents, Steve and Brenda Paine, retired 3 years ago after both teaching and coaching for 35 plus years. Her brother, Stephen Paine, has coached at the college level and has coached high school tennis for 11 years. Coach Paine has 7 nieces and nephews and she loves being an aunt. She has had a dog named Max for 3 years and she absolutely adores him.
